Photo Hunt 22: Row

I have something perfect in mind for this week's Photo Hunt theme. I see them everyday, I experience them whenever I am on the road. There are always rows of cars along the major highways of Manila anytime of the day. My husband always mutter, "EDSA is one big parking lot!".

EDSA is a major thoroughfare in Metro Manila. This is a part of it along Guadalupe, Makati City (north bound). Taken during the morning rush when almost everyone's going to work or going to school.

I've been to Manila several times. I've always been stuck in the jams. There's so much cars on the roads. I'm impressed with the drivers though. It's tough to drive on the roads.

The traffic looks bad but it sure is in rows. Nice shot for the theme. Happy Weekend! http://crizlai.blogspot.com/2007/08/photo-hunters-row.html

Not the kind of row I like - but still a row... LOL! (Are those guys lining up on the billboard coincidence?)

ECL, Haha, so you noticed most Filipino drivers have 'great skills' in driving.

TEGDIRB92, When I posted this in one of my blog groups, someone commented also on the billboard.

PATO & PEARL, Me too. Aaargh...

CRIZ LAI, The traffic is really bad during the rush hour.

SABINE, Yes, it's just a coincidence. :)

DRAGONHEART, Humungous one!

Lynn said...

IPANEMA, Getting worse as a matter of fact. The buses, the unruly drivers and some pedestrians who cannot follow instructions where to properly cross or walk. Plus the proliferation of motorcycles. Just imagine that.

Lynn said...

CONNIE, the major highway only rests during Good Friday when 50% go to different vacation destinations and 45% stay home because no mall is open . :)

Manila has so many people. traffic jams seldom occur in a town like mine :)

Hi Lynn, This looks like a bumper to bumper rows of cars. Thanks for sharing. Baba

BENGBENG, That's true for Manila. The volume of the vehicles continue to rise but the road widening and city planning seems to be lagging.

THE NIGHT OWL, That is so true every rush hour.

CHEN, Same here I can take traffic as long as it is moving. I dread stand still traffic.

MICHELE, Lol, me too! :) Thanks for dropping by.

yikes - do they ever get there??

I am glad I don't have to drive when the traffic is like that!

I live out in the country, so it's very rare to be stuck in traffic like that. Now when I am it is so frustrating!!!!

The most traffic we get out here is when a combine or something is going down the road and everyone has to follow b/c they can't pass!

Thanks for visiting my PhotoHunt!

That is definitely a kind of row I don't like! Good job!

Perfect photo, Lynn. I must say that our lifestyles are very different. I admire you for facing that traffic every day. I don't think I have the patience for it. Hope you are having a perfectly delightful weekend.

Wow, row upon row of cars. I wouldn't like to have to do that very often. Great picture!

Thanks for visiting me earlier:)

I've never been to Manila, but this picture sure reminds me of Kuala Lumpur! :)

Oh I'm getting frustrated just by looking at that picture. Great for the theme.

Wow! That sure is a jam packed row! Great idea for the theme .. :)

That picture reminds me so much of my days spent commuting from Cavite to Makati for training. It was very tiring.

"Taken during the morning rush..."

The way it looks, it's more of a crawl than a rush! ;b

I'm happy I'm not a part of this row. Great entry

Arggghhh too many cars! Hahaha

Anonymous said...

Must be hard to make it through those rows! I am sure it requires a lot of patience.

Anonymous said...

Oh gads. I would HATE that. I'd have to have a steady supply of audio books to distract me. I bet you have to really plan ahead if you want to get anywhere on time!

Anonymous said...

UGH.. traffic. I do my best to avoid traffic - nothing raises my blood pressure faster than bumper to bumper traffic.

So much time and gas wasted when in a traffic jam. Sigh.

We plan to go to the car show too but since its Trixie's birthday and she doesn't want to go then we won't. Next time na lang, :)

Have a great weekend Lynn.

ewww I hate road traffic! It does look like a huge parking lot like your hubby says! Thanks for visiting my twin and triplet rows today!

That is PERFECT. I'm going home in December and I'm dreading the traffic which is sooo much worse during the holidays. I live in Greenhills pa, which gets so congested with the Christmas Bangketa crowds!

That was a great choice for the theme. Ugh! I would hate to have to face that every morning.

Unfortunately, what you illustrate is so prevalent worldwide now. It's a shame. Great photo!

Yikes - and I complain about our rush hour -- ours doesn't even come close to yours. I will be sure next time I travel to work not to complain, but rather be thankful that I don't have to encounter what you have to.

Have a great weekend.

heehee! it's the perfect "row" alright.

I hear that. My commute is not as bad but man it can be exhausting.

STINE, well yes, we do get to our destinations, slowly, slowly. :)

MAR, haha, I'm not the one driving too.

KAREN, most people here who live away from the city has better traffic too that's why they dread going to Manila

LAUREN, A., If I have a choice, I wouldn't be in that row too.

PATRICIA, Thanks! The weekend's doing just fine w/ cold and a little cough. :)

PELF, So one of the things Malaysia and the Philippines has in common is our traffic.

SUE, Just imagine what I have to deal w/ everyday

SUE, Like bumper to bumper. :)

KK, Exhausting, frustrating, what have you....lol

YTSL, Hahaha! Point taken! :D

TORAA, Good for you! :)

CHE-CHEH, ...and buses, and motorcycles....

BARBARA H., Patience and great driving skills as a matter of fact

KAREN, Oh yes, music helps me a lot. And I love observing commuters, behavior of motorists that's why I rarely get bored.

BIRDIEROARK, Haha, in the Philippines, there should be clear understanding and accpetance that traffic is a great part of our life.

JULIE, Gas, yes. My gas, how much do we spend on it weekly!

POWERSTWINB, I do too but it's a part already of my everyday life. :)

BONGGA MOM, Greenhills, lol, good luck sa traffic!

~KATHRYN~, Oh yes, I hear you on being edgy.

MAMA BEAR, That is why we leave at least an hour and a half to go to work, to avoid such traffic. But it's still traffic unless we leave before the break of dawn, LOL.

BOUNCE, Good thing!

CATS~GOATS~QUOTES, So we're on the same boat

MEEYAUW, People should learn how to walk, LOL

EPH2810, Count your blessings and one of them is not having traffic as worse as what we have. :)

CESS, swak na swak ba, haha!

DREW, to the max!

AMANDA, thanks!

KIM, Haha, I appreciate Amy Tan too. :)

Oh my goodness. You have to endure this traffic jam each day? I hear that it's bad in Bangkok but I didn't experience such choc-a-block when I was in Bangkok last.

I suppose you guys have learnt to be patient......very patient. :)

Lynn said...

JUDY, More like we can't do anything about it anymore so we became tolerant...well, somehow. :)
