Photo Hunt 36: Curvy

I missed Photo Hunt for two weeks or three. I was out the past weekends. It's good to be back in this Photo Hunt meme. This week's theme is Curvy.

I'm sharing the view of Kennon Road, also knows as the Zigzag Road. It is a 32 kilometer highway going to Baguio City. This is one of the routes leading to the Philippines' summer capital. Some people prefer going this way since it is faster but it is not so safe during the rainy season. But the view as one goes up the mountain is simply majestic.

There's also the famous lion's head which doubles as a view deck. A lot of motorists stop and take pictures here, like me and my daughter. :)

Very cool...we have roads similar to that in Tennessee. Going up to the mountains for the day can make you sick it's so curvy! Everything in your photos is sooo green!!!

Perfect choice Lynn. Baguio certainly have the most curvy roads I've ever been to.

It's been several years since my last trip there but I will always have fond memories of that special place.

I haven't seen you for a long time. I haven't been to Baguio but heard lots about it. I intend to make a trip there the next time I'm in the Philippines.

We have something like this in the place I am staying but not so nice as the view of Kennon Road that you are showing, and no lion's head for photo shooting as well. What we have here is pretty boring, just a curvy road. :/

Baguio City tops curvy roads. I remember as a child, I'd will myself to sleep before the zigzag road because I get dizzy, :D

Have a great Sunday, Lynn. Can't sleep yet.

Oh your photos made me homesick. I miss Baguio, have lots and lots of childhood memories spent among the pines. I haven't been there in 10 or so years (maybe 15????) and have no idea when the next visit will be but it has such a special place in my heart.

what an amazing "sculpture" (is that the right word?) i wonder if were brought or created on site? It appears like marble?

Unknown said...

What a curvy road. I'd have to drive so slowly on that but it looks like it's worth it.

Teena in Toronto said...

Awesome pix! I'd be stopping by the lion too!

Thanks for stopping by mine :)

I thought I already saw this but I didn't lea ve a comment so it must have been while having laptop connection troubles. It is such a curvy road, I think I would be holding onto my seat. I often do as we go into the mountains here.

Lynn said...

Thanks for all the comments. Most are in awe of the curvy road leading to Baguio. It's manageable, there are more crooked roads actually in the Philippines. :)

The lion's head is a famous landmark obviously. Maybe 90% of Filipino families who'd been to Baguio through Kennon Road has a souvenir picture with the lion's head. :)
